Gaagige-Mikwendaagoziwag “They Will Be Remembered Forever” Reward Fund
Gaagige - Mikwendaagoziwag Reward Fund Program was officially established in the City of Duluth MN 1/10/2022 and launched 1/12/2022.
On January 10, 2022, the Duluth City Council unanimously approved the resolution, formalizing the partnership with grassroots and non profit organizations; Native Lives Matter Coalition and Mending the Sacred Hoop establishing the first of its kind, in the state, and beyond the Gaagige-Mikwendaagoziwag reward fund program, offering reward for information leading to solving Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirit people cases.
An Indigenous led community response to the MMIW, MMIWg2S, MMIWR epidemic that serves as the model and a tool to help law enforcement solve cases of MMIW,g2S,LGBTQ and Relatives cases. Gaagige-Mikwendaagoziwag anticipates and encourages the growth of the program to include, multiple jurisdictions, tribal and state level legislation, with the goal in mind to expand the MN MMIR Office with a Reward Program.
During 2022, 2023 Gaagige - Mikwendaagoziwag Committee members, City of Duluth provided multiple testimony, sharing the model and vision with State Legislators in collaboration to establish the Gaagige - Mikwendaagoziwag Reward acount with the state to expand the MN MMIR Office.
The reward fund program was inspired by the missing Sheila St.Clair case, a current missing persons case with the City of Duluth.
In August of 2015, Sheila St Clair went missing from Duluth, MN. Last seen in the 100 block of West 3rd Street, she is still being sought by her family, friends, and relatives. This is an open case with the Duluth Police Department. The investigation continues, Sheila St Clair has not been found.

All funds raised will directly benefit the Reward Fund Program and will be used to encourage those with information on the missing to report.
